Ugandan-Rwandan DJ and entertainer DJ Inno is stepping into a new role with the release of ‘Ayra Star,’ his first official single featuring Rwandan artiste Davis D.
Produced by Loader at 1:55am Studio, the song combines Afrobeat with contemporary pop influences, marking DJ Inno's move from performing other artistes' music behind the DJ booth to creating original recordings of his own.

For many DJs, the booth is where they introduce audiences to music made by others. Releasing original music is a different step, requiring songwriting, production and collaboration with recording artistes. DJ Inno said the single reflects a direction he has been working toward for some time.
"For a long time, my audience has known me as a DJ, someone who curates and amplifies great music,” he said. "But music has always been bigger than the booth for me.”
He described the collaboration with Davis D as part of an ambition to reach audiences beyond East Africa.
"Working with talented artistes like Davis D is a deliberate move to expand my influence beyond DJing and into the global music scene,” he said. "I want to create music that travels, tells stories and builds bridges between cultures and generations. ‘Ayra Star’ is just the beginning.”

"Working with DJ Inno on ‘Ayra Star’ has been nothing short of inspiring,” Davis D said. "When an artist steps into a new creative space, it elevates everyone around him. I'm proud to be part of this journey, and I believe this song will reach audiences far beyond what we imagine.”
Born Innocent Izabayo, DJ Inno has become a familiar name in Kigali's nightlife, where he is known as the "Sober DJ.” He discovered DJing in high school through VirtualDJ software before pursuing it professionally after receiving his first controller and laptop from a supportive uncle.
His early career included mentorship from the late DJ Miller before the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted his progress. He later rebuilt his career with support from DJ Marnaud, performing at major events including Kiss Daniel's Kigali concert and the FIBA Zone Five Under-16 Championship.
Today, DJ Inno holds residencies at several Kigali venues, including La Noche, Atelier Du Vin and Inferno Pub.
