Airtel Rwanda and ZTE have launched a new "affordable” smartphone package aimed at expanding digital access and smartphone ownership across the country.

Under Airtel&039;s "HITAMO IBIRENZE” proposition, customers can purchase ZTE Blade A36 smartphone for Rwf119,000 and receive connectivity benefits at no extra cost, including one month of unlimited calls to all networks and 1GB of daily data for 30 days.

According to ZTE, the Blade A36 features a 6.7-inch display, a 5000mAh battery, 64GB of storage, and a 13MP rear camera, making it suitable for customers who want to stay connected, work, learn, and enjoy digital entertainment.

The initiative, unveiled on June 11, 2026, is part of Airtel Rwanda’s efforts to increase smartphone adoption and promote digital inclusion by making both devices and connectivity more affordable and accessible. It also supports Airtel’s "SWITCH TO MORE” or "HITAMO IBIRENZE” campaign, which focuses on giving customers greater value, convenience, and access to digital services, according to the telecommunications company.
