The need for integrated digital systems to improve efficiency, visibility and decision-making was a key focus of the Odoo Business Show Kigali, which brought together more than 800 entrepreneurs, business leaders, technology professionals and decision-makers to discuss how companies can better manage growth and increasingly complex operations.
Held on June 11, 2026, the event was sponsored by GlobX Commerce Ltd, an Odoo Silver Partner that supports businesses with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation, process improvement, system integration, training and ongoing support.
The discussion focused on a common challenge faced by many growing businesses. As operations expand, companies often continue using separate tools for sales, accounting, inventory management, human resources, customer follow-up and reporting.
While such systems may be sufficient in the early stages of a business, they can become more difficult to manage as organisations grow.
The event opened with a video message from Odoo founder Fabien Pinckaers, followed by presentations by Odoo speakers Laura Mbitiru and Sem Rwema.
Through demonstrations and case examples, they outlined how the platform integrates business functions such as sales, point of sale, inventory management, human resources, hospitality and reporting within a single system.
Speakers described Odoo as a business management platform designed to help companies manage operations, improve access to information and support decision-making across different departments.
During the partner session, Ines Dushime, Country Lead of GlobX, discussed the challenges businesses face when transitioning from manual processes and multiple standalone applications to an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
She indicated that successful ERP implementation involves understanding business processes, configuring systems to meet operational needs, training users and supporting adoption.
Dushime said GlobX works with businesses to identify operational gaps, implement Odoo systems tailored to their requirements and provide ongoing support to facilitate day-to-day use.
The event also featured a presentation by AC Group, one of Rwanda's leading smart transport solution providers and the company behind Tap&Go. Safiya Ibn Garba, Chief of Staff and Change Management Lead Consultant, shared the company's experience using Odoo in its operations, saying the platform helped improve visibility, efficiency and coordination.
Garba, who is Desmond Tutu Reconciliation Fellow (DTRF), also spoke about challenges encountered during implementation and commended GlobX for its support throughout the process.
Participants heard that while acquiring software may be relatively straightforward, integrating it into existing business processes often requires significant planning, training and organisational change, underscoring the role of implementation partners.
Discussions during the event highlighted common challenges faced by businesses, including delayed reporting, fragmented data, manual processes and limited operational visibility.
Speakers argued that addressing such issues may require integrated systems that connect different business functions rather than relying on multiple standalone applications.
As Rwanda advances its digital transformation agenda, participants noted growing interest in ERP systems among businesses seeking to improve efficiency, accountability and operational control.
The event concluded with a networking session involving business leaders, Odoo experts and implementation partners. A recurring theme throughout the discussions was that businesses seeking to scale their operations often need stronger internal systems and processes to support growth.
For growing companies, Odoo provides the system. As an Odoo Silver Partner, GlobX helps turn that system into practical business results.
