The national football team, Amavubi, remained 128th in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Thursday, June 11.

The country retained 1,126.62 points after failing to play any matches during the June international window.

Planned friendlies against Tanzania and Comoros in Morocco were cancelled by the hosts.

Amavubi’s most recent improvement came in March after positive performances in the FIFA Series, which saw them climb two places.

With no matches played in June, Rwanda neither gained nor lost points and remains 35th in Africa.

At the top of the rankings, Argentina moved up two places to reclaim first position, ahead of Spain and France, who dropped to third.

England, Portugal, Brazil, Morocco, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany complete the top 10.

Morocco remain Africa’s highest-ranked nation in seventh place globally, followed by Senegal (15th), Nigeria (26th), Algeria (28th), Egypt (29th), Côte d’Ivoire (33rd), Cameroon (44th), Tunisia (45th), DR Congo (46th) and Mali (55th).

Among Rwanda’s regional neighbours, Uganda is ranked 89th, Kenya 109th, Tanzania 112th and Burundi 142nd.
