The national para athletics team has departed for Tunisia ahead of the 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from June 12 to 19.

The delegation comprises four athletes: Emmanuel Niyibizi, Clementine Uwiduhaye, Jean Claude Ndayisenga, and Josiane Nikuze. It is led by head coach Claude Habumugisha.

The competition, one of the biggest para-athletics events on the African calendar, will be held in Rades, Tunisia, bringing together hundreds of athletes from around the world to compete across various track and field disciplines.

The Tunis Grand Prix serves as a crucial platform for para-athletes to improve their international rankings, achieve qualifying standards for future global competitions, and gain valuable experience against elite opposition.

This year's edition is expected to attract approximately 650 athletes from around 60 countries, making it one of the largest gatherings in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix series.
