RWANDA’S football federation, Ferwafa has promised support to Mukura as the club continues preparations to host their annual Genocide memorial tournament.
Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa said, "We are ready to help in anyway we can to make sure they (Mukura) organize a successful tournament.”

Mukura has had a troubled season due to administrative and financial constraints but the club’s president Fidele Gakuba is confident the tourney will be held immediately after the Primus league season.

He said, "Even if we (Mukura) are rocked with several problems, the supporters value the tournament and will do anything to make sure that it is held.”

Some of the club’s footballers and club officials who perished during the genocide include Theoneste Rutagengwa, Jean Paul Musisi, Justin (Katurira) Rudasingwa, Rutera, Eugène Mugirwa, Janvier Rutiyomba, Joseph Ndakaza, Camille Kayihura and Charles Sitoke, Rugema, Karongera, and Grent Emmanuel.

Officials- Paul Gakuba, Faustin Ngarambe, Félicien Ngango, Ntagorama, Paul Kanoba Semana, Kanamugire, Athanase Kayitakira, Pierre Claver Karenzi, Carvilien Karabaranga (Father to current Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports and Culture Jean Pierre Karabaranga) and Charles Murindahabi Mukubu.

Mukura is the only Primus league club which hosts annual Genocide Memorial football tournament though many league clubs lost several great footballers who played a vital role in the establishment of Rwandan football.
