PSF on business promotion drive

As part of initiatives to promote business acumen in the country’s existing and aspiring business operators, the Private Sector Federation (PSF) has embarked on a series of activities with an aim of promoting the sector.

As part of initiatives to promote business acumen in the country’s existing and aspiring business operators, the Private Sector Federation (PSF) has embarked on a series of activities with an aim of promoting the sector.

The activities will include organizing a business plan writing competition, business tourism and strengthening of business development centers.

In a recent talk show on the state of private sector based business opportunities, Molly Rwigamba the acting CEO of PSF revealed that in the business plan competition, PSF is looking at a way of supporting aspiring business operators to get startup capital.

"Through the business competition we shall come up with the best plans which we shall go on to fund to a tune of Rwf10 million as capital,” Rwigamba said.

She added that they are involved in initiatives like taking local small scale and vocational-oriented business operators to exhibitions in other countries to share experience with operators from other countries.

Among other strategies in place include creation and strengthening of business development centres and incubators where business ideas are developed, researched and tried.

"This is part of wider efforts of facilitating aspiring business men and women to flourish in the creation of private sector based jobs and opportunities,” she added

All this will contribute to a wider initiative of raising market competitiveness.
