WELL aware of whom they will face in the final qualifying round of the 2011 African Nation Championship (CHAN) in Sudan; Amavubi Stars will regroup on April 19.

The Wasps, who marched into the second round with ease following Eritrea’s last minute withdraw, will play Tanzania’s Taifa Stars for that elusive slot.

On the other hand, Tanzania proved how lethal they can be infront of goal after hammering Somalia 6-0.

The first leg will be played on the weekend of May 1-2 in Dar es Salaam while the return leg will be hosted in Kigali on the weekend of June 5-6.

After missing out on last year’s edition following a humiliating 0-4 loss to Sudan at the preliminary stage, Amavubi’s new head coach Sellas Tetteh is eager to win over the fans by qualifying the team to the tournament which will be held in Sudan from January 21 to February 10.

Else where, Uganda will face historical rivals Kenya. With qualifiers being played in six zones, Africa’s football governing body (Caf) has doubled the number of participating teams to 16.
