Rugby league to start in May

THE national rugby league has been penciled to start early next month according to the first Vice President of the National Rugby Federation Gerald Nsenga. The league was delayed due to the Bujumbura 7s and Hong Kong 10s where the Silverbacks reached the finals of the Bowl category.

THE national rugby league has been penciled to start early next month according to the first Vice President of the National Rugby Federation Gerald Nsenga.

The league was delayed due to the Bujumbura 7s and Hong Kong 10s where the Silverbacks reached the finals of the Bowl category.

Nsenga told Times Sport that the league will be curtain-raised with a10-aside tournament

"We shall organize a 10s tournament after the mourning period to help clubs shape up.

We are also talking to Cassie Sociale to see whether they can sponsor the league,” he said.

So far, eight clubs are expected to take part in the competition. These include reigning champions Buffaloes, Lion de Fer, UNR Grizzlies, Sharks, Simba, Puma, Gorrillas and ISAE.
