Editor,

Reading yesterday’s edition of The New Times, I learnt that the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), would announce the details of the major changes among its staff and structure, following the completion of a restructuring exercise aimed at overhauling the organisation.

According to the CEO of RDB, John Gara, the changes, which will see a number of staff laid off, are designed to streamline the operations of the organisation.

This move is extremely timely. While the RDB has had various successes, it is important that it continues to evolve and become more and more relevant.

The RDB is one of the most important arms of the Rwandan Renaissance and because of that it must be at the forefront of reform. I wish the CEO of RDB and his team all the best.
