FOUR players from Hulks, a silverbacks’ string side boosted their chances of a call up to the senior side after impressing the selectors in the Nile Special rugby 7s tourney at Dam waters in Jinja, Uganda.

The youthful team, who were playing in their first ever regional competition, won two of their five games.
The victories came against Kenyan clubs Sejegu (14-0) and Summerkamp (7-0) but they lost against eventual champions 0-14, Nile Club 0-7 and Kisumu 0-12.

The side’s caretaker coach Camble Gikuua now believes that Ignace Nsanzimana (Grizzlies), Valentine Nsanzimana (Gorillas), Nadir Muhire (Buffaloes), and Felix Nsengimana (Grizzlies) have the potential to play in the senior side.

"It was a good learning experience for the boys and considering that they were playing against good and experienced sides from the region, they did pretty well.”
"With good exposure, the quartet of Nsanzimana, Valentine, Muhire and Nsengimana have the potential to break into the Silverbacks fold,” the Namibian added.

Kiboko retained the trophy after out-muscling Kisumu 21-19 in an all-Kenyan final.

Dimension Delta and Kampala coach sponsored the Hulks.
