APR vs Rayon: Ssekiganda fit for Peace Cup final derby

APR FC's Ronald Ssekiganda will play his side's Saturday’s 2026 Peace Cup final against Rayon Sports, after returning from injury.

APR FC have received a major boost ahead of Saturday’s 2026 Peace Cup final against Rayon Sports, with midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda returning from injury.

The highly anticipated final will kick off at 6:00 PM at Amahoro Stadium.

Ssekiganda’s return gives head coach Adel Abddrrahim more options in midfield at a crucial stage, as the army side aims to retain the trophy and complete a domestic double after already clinching the league title.

The Ugandan midfielder had missed a couple of matches after suffering an injury earlier this month, but he has now fully recovered and is available for selection.

Meanwhile, Rayon Sports will be without Burundian midfielder Richard Ndayishimiye, who is suspended for the final.

Ndayishimiye earned his suspension after receiving a second booking during Rayon’s goalless draw against Gorilla FC in the semifinals.

His absence could prove costly in a fixture known for its intensity and narrow margins, particularly in midfield battles.

The final will be officiated by Patience Rulisa as center referee, assisted by Didier Ishimwe and Eric Mugabo, while David Kayitare will serve as the fourth official.

APR FC booked their place in the final after thrashing Etincelles FC 6–2 on aggregate in the semifinals, while Rayon Sports progressed past Gorilla FC on the away-goals rule following a tightly contested tie.
