Ambassadors of Christ Choir will hold a major concert at BK Arena on August 30 as part of celebrations marking 30 years of ministry.

Renowned Rwandan gospel group Ambassadors of Christ Choir will hold a major concert at BK Arena on August 30 as part of celebrations marking 30 years of ministry.

The highly anticipated event will serve as the climax of a year-long anniversary campaign held under the theme, "God Painted Our Story.”

As part of the celebrations, the choir has conducted several community outreach activities across the country. One of the most notable initiatives was an evangelical mission at the Iwawa Rehabilitation and Vocational Skills Development Centre, which attracted nearly 5,000 students and saw 195 people commit their lives to Christ and receive baptism.

On May 15, choir members also visited genocide survivors living at the DP Model Village in Rudakabukirwa, Gasabo District, where they shared messages of comfort, encouragement and hope.

Over the past three decades, Ambassadors of Christ Choir has grown into one of the region’s most influential gospel ministries, spreading the Gospel through music both in Rwanda and internationally.

A new chapter at BK Arena

According to Gertrude Munyana, the decision to host the concert at BK Arena was driven by the choir’s growing audience and increasing demand for a larger venue.

"BK Arena is indeed a new venue for Ambassadors of Christ Choir,” she told The New Times.

"The choir has been in ministry for more than 30 years and has impacted many lives through its music. Due to growing requests from followers, supporters and well-wishers for a larger venue that can accommodate more people, we found BK Arena to be the most suitable choice for this special concert.”

Former members expected to return

Munyana also revealed that discussions are ongoing to bring back former choir members, including those living abroad, for the anniversary celebration.

"We are currently in contact with former choir members, including those living outside the country,” she said. "While discussions are ongoing, we are still awaiting confirmation regarding their availability and participation.”

Details regarding guest choirs and invited artistes are yet to be confirmed, although organizers say more information will be announced in the coming weeks.

"At the moment, we are not in a position to confirm details regarding guest choirs or artistes,” Munyana noted. "However, we will communicate further information in due course.”

She further disclosed that the concert will feature a partial live audio and video recording, allowing attendees to become part of a historic production celebrating the choir’s 30-year journey.
