The two-day Africa CEO Forum that concludes in Kigali on Friday, May 15, has brought together thousands of business leaders, investors and policymakers to discuss Africa’s economic and investment priorities.

But not everything about the event is business deals and discussions about the continent's future.

Delegates may also want to take a piece of Rwanda home. And there is a range of souvenirs they can consider before leaving Kigali. Most can be purchased around town, while those who prefer convenience can shop online and have them delivered to their hotel, Airbnb, or apartment.

These coffee brands are sourced from local cooperatives and freshly roasted for specialty quality. You can buy them directly at brand cafes in Kigali including Gishushu, Kimihurura, and Norrsken House, specialty cafés like Inzora Rooftop, Simba Supermarket, and Duty-Free shops at Kigali International Airport.

Tea

If you are not a coffee enthusiast but a tea lover, Rwanda offers some of the finest locally grown teas, known for their bright, brisk flavour and smooth taste. Rwandan tea is available in supermarkets, markets, and online platforms, with well-known brands such as Rwanda Mountain Tea sold in 500 grams loose leaf or tea bags. while Silverback tea is one of the most highly rated local varieties.

Akabanga Chili

If you love spices, Akabanga is Rwanda’s famous chili oil that adds heat and flavor to everyday meals. It is a locally made chili oil sold in a small dropper bottle. It is available in supermarkets and local markets.

It can be found at art spaces such as Inema Arts Center in Kacyiru and the Rwanda Art Museum in Kanombe, creative studios like Azizi Life Studio, which also offers workshops on the craft.

It is also available through women-led and artisan groups including Nyamirambo Women’s Center, Irebe Basket Collection, and Kigali Pottery Collections, or bought online via Murukali and RwandaMart.

To beautify your home or office space with a cultural look, you can purchase wall baskets, they offer a simple way to bring Rwandan craftsmanship into modern homes. These handwoven sisal pieces are valued for their light texture, durability, and traditional patterns used for wall decoration.

They are available at Irebe Baskets Collection, which works with multiple cooperatives and offers a wide range of designs, including custom options. They can also be purchased online through Murukali, or found at local craft outlets such as Kicirwanda. Another option is Coffee First in Gishushu, which stocks selected wall basket sets.

Handmade jewelry

For handmade jewelry in Kigali, you can find locally crafted pieces that combine traditional techniques with modern design, using recycled, natural, and precious materials.

In Kimihurura, Abraham Konga is known for jewelry made from recycled brass, glass, and cow bone, while K'tsobe offers contemporary brass and silver designs inspired by nature, showcased at local craft events.

Other key spots include Inzuki Designs, which specialises in vibrant beaded jewelry, and Caplaki Craft Village, a central hub hosting multiple artisan stalls. Peace Bijouterie provides both custom and locally made pieces in gold, silver, and precious stones.
