Rayon Sports have secured a place in the 2026 Peace Cup final after eliminating Gorilla FC on the away goals rule in the semifinals.
After earning a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Rayon Sports held Alain Kirasa’s Gorilla FC to a goalless draw in a tense second leg played at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Tuesday.
The match was tightly contested in midfield, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut scoring chances.
Rayon Sports threatened on several occasions but failed to find a breakthrough, while Gorilla FC remained disciplined defensively throughout the encounter.
Despite the 0-0 stalemate, the result was enough for "Gikundiro” to advance to a second consecutive Peace Cup final thanks to their away goal advantage.
The Blues, who last lifted the trophy in 2023, will face either APR FC or Etincelles FC in the final.
APR FC head into Wednesday’s second leg at Kigali Pelé Stadium with a strong advantage after defeating Etincelles FC 3-1 in the first leg in Rubavu.
The 2026 Peace Cup final is scheduled for May 23, while the third-place playoff will take place on May 22.
With the league title seemingly within APR FC’s reach, Rayon Sports may need to win the Peace Cup — or finish strongly in the league — to secure qualification for continental competitions if APR complete a domestic double.
