Rayon Sports star Asman Ndikumana has fired a warning to rivals APR FC that the BK Pro League title race isn’t over yet.

The Burundian striker was on target as the Blues beat Marines FC 2-1 at Kigali Pele at Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday.

APR sit third place with 59 points, well behind guest clubs Al Hilal and Al Merrikh who are leading the table with 70 points and 59 points respectively.

The army side is, however, on the verge of clinching their seventh league title in a row should they win two of their remaining matches.

The best ranked Rwandan club in the league will be crowned champions of even if they finish behind Al Hilal and Al Merrikh who are playing the league as guest clubs.

While APR have an upper hand on the title, Ndikumana insists the Blues’ mentality has not changed despite trailing with four more games to play.

"We’re taking it game by game. The goal is to win as many matches as possible because the BK Pro League is not easy but we need keep winning our matches and hopefully they can drop points,” he said

A win against Marines put APR’s title celebrations on hold even after beating AS Kigali 2-1 in Sunday’s game at Kigali Pele Stadium and Ndikumana warned that any more mistake can haunt APR.

Ndikumana says that any club in the league can drop points in the title race and he hopes the same can happen to APR FC.

"As long as there’s hope, there’s life. We are not going to give up, until we know that it is not possible” he added

The Burundian striker stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in every match, including keeping clean sheets and maximising points.

"We want to improve every game and be ready for the next match. The only thing in our mind right now is victory.”
