After two weeks of international cricket action at Gahanga Cricket Stadium, attention now turns back to domestic competitions as local teams return to action this weekend.

The ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy brought global attention to Rwandan cricket, with fans witnessing high-level performances from eventual champions the United States, alongside Nepal, Italy, Vanuatu, and hosts Rwanda.

"It was truly an honor for us to host,” Rwanda Cricket Association president Stephen Musaale told Times Sport. "This is the first tournament of its kind, bringing together teams from across the world.”

With the international tournament now concluded, the spotlight shifts back to domestic cricket, where local rivalries and player development take center stage.

"The players will continue with league matches, and we have more tournaments coming up. It’s a continuous process of learning and improving,” Musaale said.

Action resumes in both the RCA Men’s T20 Cup and the Rwanda Women’s T20 Premier League, with several fixtures scheduled at Gahanga Main Oval and Gahanga Oval B.
