President Paul Kagame on Thursday afternoon concluded his state visit to Botswana.

Botswana's President Duma Boko bid farewell to Kagame, who concluded the two-day visit during which the two Heads of State and their delegations held productive discussions.

Kagame and Boko reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across key sectors for the shared prosperity of the people of both countries.

On Wednesday, the two Presidents witnessed the signing of six cooperation agreements in various areas, including double taxation avoidance, visa abolition for select passport holders, air services, health, and trade and investment. A Memorandum of Understanding also was signed between the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

Before departing from Gaborone on Thursday, Kagame toured Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTC Botswana), a 50/50 joint venture between the Government of Botswana and De Beers. DTC Botswana is the world’s largest and most sophisticated rough diamond sorting and valuing operation, with the capacity to sort up to 45 million carats annually.

Rwanda and Botswana enjoy warm bilateral relations, with cooperation in several sectors, including diplomacy, mineral resources, defence and security, police cooperation, investment promotion, and agriculture.

Kagame's State Visit to Gaborone was preceded by the Second Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) and the Second Rwanda-Botswana Business Forum.
