I&M Bank Rwanda on Monday stepped up its "Tsinda na Banki Muhorana” campaign through branch activations at its City Centre headquarters and Kigali Heights branch, as part of efforts to drive wider adoption of digital banking services.

The activations, which brought customers together for live demonstrations, engagement activities and prize giveaways, mark a new phase of the campaign first launched in January 2026 to encourage customers to transact through digital channels.

I&M Bank has already rewarded a trip to Mombasa for two and Frw 500,000 cash. iPhone 17 Pro Max is among the rewards still up for grabs.

The campaign rewards customers for using its digital platforms, including mobile banking, internet banking and USSD services, with prizes ranging from cash rewards and trips to high-end gadgets such as Samsung A06 and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Speaking at the event, David Marc Munyanziza, Head of Digital Experience at I&M Bank Rwanda, said the campaign is aimed at helping customers embrace faster and more efficient ways of banking.

"We launched this campaign to create awareness and encourage customers to fully utilise our digital channels. Today, customers no longer need to physically come to the bank for most transactions. Through our platforms, they can make payments, transfers, pay water, electricity, subscriptions, and other banking transactions anytime, anywhere,” he said.

To participate, customers register by calling a dedicated line, 250788162345 and opting into the campaign. Once enrolled, every qualifying transaction increases their chances of winning in monthly draws.

The campaign is among the bank's efforts to drive wider adoption of digital banking services.

Munyanziza said the initiative is also helping the bank strengthen customer engagement while demonstrating the reliability of its digital infrastructure.

"Our platform operates with 99 per cent uptime and is accessible 24/7. We also have dedicated teams supporting customers whenever they face challenges, including during weekends,” he noted.

He added that transaction value does not determine eligibility, but rather the frequency and authenticity of usage across digital channels.

Among customers rewarded during Monday’s activation was George Numushumbamwiza, who described the experience as unexpected.

"I didn’t expect this at all. It’s real, and it encourages me to keep using the platform and invite others to join,” he said after receiving his Samsung A06 prize.

The Bank said the activation is being rolled out across its branch network this week, beginning with the City Centre headquarters and Kigali Heights, before moving to CHIC and Kicukiro branches, and later to Nyabugogo and Nyamirambo.

The bank said similar activations will also be extended to upcountry branches as part of efforts to bring more customers on board and increase awareness of its digital banking platforms.
