Rwandan musician King James has sold out his August 1 concert at BK Arena just three days after tickets went on sale online.

The New Times understands that more than 1,400 tickets had already been secured during the pre-sale phase, before Intore Entertainment—the event’s promoter—released the remaining tickets to the public on May 2.

Dubbed "20 Years of King James,” the highly anticipated concert has generated overwhelming demand, with all ticket categories snapped up nearly three months ahead of the show. Sections including VIP, Floor Standing, Upper and Lower Bowls, and Wheelchair access—priced between Rwf 15,000 and Rwf 60,000—were marked "sold out” within just three days.

The rapid sellout underscores King James’ enduring appeal and his deep connection with audiences, as well as his lasting influence on Rwanda’s music scene.

The New Times has also learned that both the promoter and the artiste are exploring a possibility to add a second show on August 2 to accommodate the surge in demand.

Known for a catalogue of hits that resonate across generations, King James is expected to deliver a performance that blends nostalgia with high-energy entertainment.

Meanwhile, many fans who missed out on tickets have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with some urging organizers to add another date or expand the venue’s capacity to meet demand.
