Over 80 street kids and orphans have been attending in the Ubumwe Basketball Camp at a college in Kicukiro.

The Ubumwe Basketball camp is an initiative started by Kate Kelley, a volunteer working for ‘As we forgive’, the Peace and Love Proclaimers (PLP) and Prison Fellowship.

The Prison Fellowship works with these kids on a weekly basis and gives them a meal every Wednesday. Prison Fellowship is an NGO that is involved with reconciliation in prisons and in communities after prisoners have been released.

The aim of the camp has been to unite the kids through basketball while teaching them the ethos of Prison Fellowship which is reconciliation, disciple, peace and unity.
The Basketball Camp ends next week on Saturday when finals will be held at Amahoro Stadium.
