The pro-golfer, whose financial demands have been solved, has nothing else to worry about apart from sharpening his putts and birdies ahead of the Rwf 147.5m cash-rich tournament.
The 27-year-old’s trip to Nairobi has been jointly sponsored by Ernst & Young, RwandAir, Tele-10, Kigali Casino and various members of the Kigali Golf Club (KGC) fraternity.
"I’m grateful to everyone who has chipped in something to make sure I compete in the Kenya Open.”
"The onus is now on me to play to the best of my ability,” he added.
MTN’s sponsored professional golfer Jean Baptist Hakizimana is also scheduled to make the Nairobi trip but only as a caddie for Ruterana, who failed to make the cut back in 2008.
As expected, the Open, which has been a regular event on the European Challenge Tour since 1991 will draw some of the best golfers from Europe and Africa.
