The Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) will take effectively take an extended break until May 6 to make way for the upcoming CAVB Men’s Club Championship, which will be held in Kigali from April 22 to May 3.

The decision was announced on Monday by the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA).

FERWABA Executive Director François-Régis Gahuranyi told Times Sport that the pause was necessary as key venues—BK Arena and Petit Stade Gymnasium—have been reserved to host the continental tournament.

When the league resumes, RSSB Tigers will have joined the camp preparing for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) playoffs between May 22 to 31.

At the time of the break, Patriots lead the standings with 19 points, two ahead of Rwanda Energy Group (REG), while APR sit third with 15 points.
