Rwandan international referees Alphonse Ndayisaba, Faustin Nsangamahoro, and Emmanuel Havugimana have been selected to officiate at the 47th CAVB Men’s Club Championship, set to take place in Kigali from April 22 to May 3.
A reliable source told Times Sport that the trio is included on the official list of match officials for the continental tournament, which will be hosted in East Africa for the first time.
The referees will also be part of a major technological step forward at the competition with the introduction of the Video Challenge System. The system, which allows teams to review disputed decisions, is expected to improve accuracy and fairness during matches in Kigali.

The technology was recently piloted in Rwanda during the national volleyball league finals and is now set for a larger stage.
The championship will bring together 30 of Africa’s top clubs, offering Rwanda an opportunity not only to showcase its hosting capabilities but also its growing expertise in officiating and match management.
Rwanda will have the largest representation at the tournament, with Kepler VC, APR VC, Police VC, and wildcard entrants Rwanda Energy Group (REG) VC all confirmed to participate.
