Why they love sports

Sport is so important, that’s why it is included on the school timetable. Even though its sometimes not considered as part of learning, sports is equally important as any other subject. “I always encourage my friends to carry their sports wear to school especially when its sports day,” said 12 year-old Henry Munyaneza, a P.5 student at Kigali Parents School.

Sport is so important, that’s why it is included on the school timetable. Even though its sometimes not considered as part of learning, sports is equally important as any other subject.

"I always encourage my friends to carry their sports wear to school especially when its sports day,” said 12 year-old Henry Munyaneza, a P.5 student at Kigali Parents School.

"I feel stronger and I believe it’s because of both sports and good feeding. My parents have always encouraged me to exercise so that I can relax my mind,” Munyaneza said.

Helen Umutoni, 13, a P.5 student at Kigali Harvest Primary School says, "Engaging in different games also helps children develop their talents at an early age. It is also easy for children to learn various games since they are still young.”

"I have been playing netball with my friends yet I did not have any idea of the game,” Umutoni said.

Claudine Nkabire, a parent encouraged students to get involve in different sports and games if they want to develop their talents.

"Many people have earned a living from their talents; students should develop their talents while at the same time excell academically,” Nkabire said.
