The ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors (J30) returns to Kigali for the fifth time, with matches set to be played on the city’s clay courts over two weeks, from April 20 to May 3, at the IPRC-Kigali Ecology Tennis Courts.
This year’s edition, open exclusively to players under the age of 18, has attracted 73 participants from 22 countries, including hosts Rwanda. The competition will be staged in two phases, with the first week running from April 20 to April 27, followed by the second week from April 28 to May 3.

The previous tournament saw British rising star Jack Berry and India’s Jannat Chiripal claim the boys’ and girls’ titles, respectively. This year, a fresh group of contenders is expected to battle for top honours, including American Eaden Zack Harron and Botswana’s Nina Sekonopo, who enter as top seeds.
Harron is already familiar with the Kigali courts, having enjoyed a successful 2025 campaign in which he secured two doubles titles and one singles trophy.
Rwanda will be represented by nine players—six in the boys’ category and three in the girls’. Jedekia Niyibizi, Gedeon Murinzi, Calvin Habiyambere, Elias Rubin, Wesley Shema, and Kevin Rutayisire will compete in the boys’ singles, while Thierrine Ineza, Chrissa Mugabo Sheja, and Esther Tuyishime will fly the flag in the girls’ category.
