The 2007 league winners Atraco beat and then leapfrogged rivals Rayon Sport to snatch second spot on the league standings after a deserved 2-1 victory over the Blues yesterday at Amahoro stadium.

Sam Timbe’s side went ahead just after four minutes through Ugandan winger Michael Sebalinga, who benefited from a defensive blunder by former Atraco defender Charles Kawuma.

Rayon rallied to get an equalizer on the 28th minute after Rwandan international striker Yussuf Ndayishimiye dribbled past defender Amani Uwilingiyimana before striking a fierce shot past goalie Ismail Mfashingabo.

Daddy Birori benefited, after yet another blunder from Kawuma, who miscalculated a lowly ball thereby allowing the ex-Mukura forward   to regain Atraco’s lead on the 32nd minute.
