Players, coaches, officials, and fans will observe a one-minute silence in remembrance of victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi before kickoff when the Rwanda Premier League resumes on Friday, April 17.

The league had paused for a week to allow Rwandans and friends of Rwanda to mourn the more than one million lives lost during the Genocide 32 years ago.

The commemoration period, which lasts 100 days, will run until July 4—a date that marks when the Rwanda Patriotic Front halted the Genocide.

As various remembrance activities continue nationwide, the Rwanda Football Federation, in collaboration with the Rwanda Premier League and its member clubs, has called on the football community to observe a minute of silence before every match on matchday 27 in tribute to the victims.

The league resumes on Friday, April 17, where Musanze FC will travel to Kamena Stadium to take on Amagaju FC while Marines FC host AS Kigali at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu. Meanwhile, Gasogi United will take on Gorilla FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
