The country has also expanded its global footprint through strategic partnerships, notably through Rwanda Development Board agreements with the LA Clippers and the LA Rams. These deals make Rwanda the first African nation to sponsor teams in both the National Basketball Association and the National Football League, reinforcing the global "Visit Rwanda” brand.

According to the Sports and Culture Sector Strategic Plan, these initiatives are projected to generate over Rwf30 billion from sports tourism and events by 2029, highlighting sport’s growing contribution to Rwanda’s broader economic development agenda.
