Rapper/hip hop artist, Riderman has condemned doctors at King Faisal Hospital (KFH) for neglecting his mother, who was admitted in critical condition.

Riderman said, his mother was involved in a road accident on Valentine’s Day, while traveling from Gitarama to Kigali. She sustained severe fractures on bones on her back.

"Mother has been hospitalized for three weeks without treatment. The hospital claims they don’t have necessary equipment,” Riderman said.

"I wonder how long it will take to get equipment, she is in great pain.”

When contacted, the Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Hospital, Juliet Mbabazi refused to comment on the issue, saying that it is the doctor’s responsibility to protect the patient’s privacy.

"As a doctor, I’m under no obligation to speak publicly on a patient’s condition, ” Mbabazi said. However, I can only comment if the patient permits me to.”

Mbabazi also said that  "Rwanda being a landlocked country, it’s often difficult to get equipment from the manufacturing companies, especially when  you’re ordering a small number.”

"You can’t order, for example two or three tools from the manufacturing company and expect them to get delivered in time,” Mbabazi said.

"In such cases we have to wait and see if Uganda or Kenya is ordering for similar equipment, before we can also make an order.”
