What expression is on the earth’s face?

If the earth had a face and you are asked to draw its expression, what would it be like? Smiling, sad? What would it be like? I once read an Article that said, once there was a man who asked this same question to his friends. It was one evening when John and his friends visited a co-worker at his place and then he asked the question. Then one of them had a take on it, but before they could understand what he said, they were interrupted by a neighbour.

John’s friend lived in one of the apartments on one long house separated by a wall in between apartments and so people speaking in the adjacent apartment could hear each other.

They heard a door knock at the neighbours. A man was knocking hard while also kicking the door calling out to his wife to open for him. After a while the wife opens the door and thereafter cries are heard as a child screams, "No, stop daddy, don’t hurt mummy!”

This is a simple illustration on the order of the day in a small unit of people that is a family. Probably I have taken an example which does not apply generally on all parts of the earth, but look all around you and check what’s going on.

The UNICEF reports that probably one wife in a home is beaten every after 15 seconds
in the U.S.A alone.

One of the worst killers of children is famine. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Theft and robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common, theft and murders are committed by day. Men are taking lives of men, women and children. Men have become infatuated with vice and every species of evil prevails.

They have perverted justice and filled with desire of selfish gain. Justice stands far-off, for truth is fallen in the street equity cannot enter. In the great cities there are multitudes living in poverty and wretchedness, well nigh destitute of food, shelter and clothing.

While in the same cities, there are those who live luxuriously, spending their money on richly furnished houses, on personal adornment or worse still, upon the gratification of sensual appetites, lost in liquor, tobacco and other things.

Earthquakes, floods, landslides and many more natural disasters have come upon us, causing restlessness to all nations.

Recently, take examples of Chile that suffered a huge earthquake plus Haiti, Portugal suffered a big flood. In Uganda, they have been affected by landslides. All these have claimed hundreds of lives, leaving thousands homeless without shelter and other traumatic effects.

Once more I ask what expression you would draw on the earth’s face.
