Finally, Agatha Habyarimana is under legal scrutiny

Agatha Kanziga Habyarimana has been summoned by the French Justice system.

Editor,

It’s always a good day for justice when a prominent Genocide fugitives is arrested. They say that a thief has forty days; obviously, Madame Habyarimana’s days of evading justice have come and gone.

It seems that the Rwanda-France rapprochement is already bearing fruits. A few years ago, something as dramatic as this wouldn’t have been imaginable. Who could have thought that the French justice system would put on the stand someone who was the wife of a former ‘ally’? It shows just how different things are these days.

I would love it if she was extradited but if that isn’t possible, I want her to be tried for her role in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in a French court.
