Rwanda starts Nile basin championship preps

THE national men’s volleyball team has started training ahead of the Nile basin Africa men’s championship scheduled for May in Cairo, Egypt. Since sessions will be held concurrently with the national league, the selected players will be regrouping twice a week at Amahoro stadium before returning to their respective clubs.

THE national men’s volleyball team has started training ahead of the Nile basin Africa men’s championship scheduled for May in Cairo, Egypt.

Since sessions will be held concurrently with the national league, the selected players will be regrouping twice a week at Amahoro stadium before returning to their respective clubs.

The team’s early preparations are meant to give new head coach Paulo de Tarca a glimpse at the team according to the technical director of the national volleyball federation (FRVB) Christian Hatumimana.

"He needs to have a good look at the team and make the necessary changes,” he said. It will be Rwanda’s first appearance in the event which will also attract teams like Morocco, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Libya, Sudan, Cameroon, Tanzania and Algeria.
