Editor, This is in response to the article that was published in ‘The Sunday Times’ of February 21, titled “US$ 5m project to fight child labour launched.” We would like to correct some few errors that were published. In that article, it was reported that Rwanda Education Alternatives for Children (REACH) will sponsor ‘83, 000’ children.

This is in response to the article that was published in ‘The Sunday Times’ of February 21, titled "US$ 5m project to fight child labour launched.” We would like to correct some few errors that were published.
In that article, it was reported that Rwanda Education Alternatives for Children (REACH) will sponsor ‘83, 000’ children.
However, the four-year project that is funded by the US Department of Labour (USDOL) through Winrock International (WI), Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) and Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) will sponsor ‘8,300’ children withdrawn from exploitive child labour in agriculture.
These are from the seven districts of Nyarugenge, Nyaruguru, Gicumbi, Nyamasheke, Nyagatare, Rubavu and Kayonza, but not as previously reported.
