NESA releases travel schedule for students ahead of holidays

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has announced the official travel schedule for secondary school students returning home at the end of the second term.

NESA said the coordinated travel programme will run from Tuesday, March 31, to Friday, April 3.

On Tuesday, students from schools in Huye, Nyamagabe, Ngororero, Nyagatare, Gatsibo and Musanze will travel back home.

On Wednesday, it will be the turn of students at schools based in Ruhango, Gisagara, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Burera, Rwamagana and Kayonza.

On Thursday, transportation will be facilitated for students in the City of Kigali, alongside those in Nyanza, Kamonyi, Karongi, Rutsiro, Rulindo, Gakenke, Ngoma and Kirehe.

The exercise will conclude on Friday, April 3, with students at schools based in Muhanga, Nyaruguru, Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Bugesera and Gicumbi.

School administrators have been instructed to follow the schedule and release students early in the day. All students are required to travel in their school uniforms.

Parents have also been urged to provide adequate transport fare, while district and sector education officers have been tasked with overseeing compliance.

For students departing from, or transiting through, the capita the designated site for buses is Kigali Pelé Stadium.

NESA cautioned that access to the venue will be time-bound, noting that no student will be allowed to enter the stadium after 3pm.
