IT was a great weekend for first-timers Impala Nippers and Titans in the RCA T20 tournament at Kicukiro oval. Impala posted a 17-run victory over under achievers Right Guards while Titans saw off Eric Dusingizimana’s Kicukiro College of Technology (KCT) on Sunday.

Valuable knocks from Uganda’s international Otim Raymond (40) and Eric Dusabemungu (33) inspired Impala to a good score of 105/4.

The pair then compounded Right Guards’ misery by picking six wickets between them. Guards’ former player Robert Mugisha weighed in with three wickets to give the debutants an ideal start.

In Group B, one of Rwanda’s rising stars Audifax Byiringiro blitzed a quick-fire 40 runs but it was Bob Songa’s all-round display (22 runs and three wickets) that rallied the side to victory.

Titans set KCT 111 runs and then bundled them out for 93. Dusingizimana top scored for KCT with 42 runs while Eugene Haragirimana added 16 runs.
