Leonid Radvinsky, the billionaire owner of OnlyFans, a content subscription platform widely known for adult material, has died at the age of 43 following a prolonged battle with cancer.
In a statement, the company said Radvinsky "passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer.”
Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Radvinsky acquired OnlyFans in 2018 when he bought 75% of its parent company, Fenix International, from UK-based founder Tim Stokely. Under his leadership, the platform experienced rapid growth, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, a surge that saw him join Forbes’ list of billionaires within three years.
Founded in 2016, OnlyFans allows creators to share videos and photos behind paywalls, earning money through subscriptions, tips, and direct requests. While it hosts a variety of content ranging from fitness to cooking, the platform is best known for adult material and direct interactions between creators and subscribers. The company takes a 20% commission on earnings.
By 2024, OnlyFans had generated $1.4 billion in revenue from transactions exceeding £7 billion and counted more than 377 million users and 4.6 million creators, according to company filings.
Radvinsky held a degree in economics from Northwestern University. Beyond OnlyFans, he invested in technology ventures through his firm Leo.com and supported philanthropic causes, including donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
According to Forbes, his net worth was estimated at $4.7 billion.
