Rwanda national football team head coach Stephen Constantine has added Olivier Kwizera to his squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA Series 2026, scheduled to take place from March 26–31 in Kigali.
Kwizera’s call-up was confirmed by Fabrice Shema during an interview on RTV Kick Off, aired on Rwanda Television on Saturday, March 21.
Shema explained that the Rayon Sports goalkeeper, who was initially left out of the provisional squad, will join the team’s training camp at Ferwafa Hotel. He replaces Fiacre Ntwari, who withdrew due to illness.
Constantine has been closely monitoring Kwizera since arriving in Rwanda earlier this week. The goalkeeper impressed in Rayon Sports’ goalless draw against Al Merrikh in the league, before playing a key role in helping the club eliminate Police FC on penalties to reach the Peace Cup semi-finals.
Kwizera, 29, was previously part of the Amavubi squad selected by Adel Amrouche for international friendlies against Al Hilal in November, at a time when he was without a club.

His last competitive international call-up dates back to June 2022, and he will now compete for a place between the posts alongside Hugo Bigirimana, Patience Niyongira, and Adolphe Hakizimana.
Amavubi’s training camp is set to begin on Monday with a provisional squad of 31 players, which will later be trimmed to 26 for the FIFA Series.
The upcoming matches will provide valuable preparation as Rwanda builds towards major continental competitions, including the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Rwanda will open their FIFA Series campaign against Grenada national football team at Amahoro Stadium on March 27.
