Tijara Kabendera

Tijara Kabendera is the perfect morning voice that awakens you every Friday when tuned to Radio Rwanda with the show that includes Bwakeye bute, birthday greetings and lots of entertainment. She also does her thing in Kinyarwanda and swahili every Tuesday and Wednesday in the East African beat show.

Below is how she does it in her typical working day:
I wake up at 6a.m and head to the shower. After I am done with all the preparations, I serve my family with breakfast.

I set off for work at about 7:20a.m and at 8:20a.m; I am through with making a selection of music which suits my program.

At exactly 8.30a.m, I must be on air. The program goes until 11a.m when I switch on to other businesses. Or if none, I get home for lunch. I take a rest for about an hour before I take on the next move on other responsibilities that may also include some work at home.

Afternoon is when I plan for other personal business that is if I do not have any program in the field like teaching or promoting the Swahili language.

At about 6:30p.m, I go back home to prepare and help or guide my children on different things which includes school homework.

At 8:30p.m, I organize for my children to have supper although we sometimes have it together with my husband when he gets home before 9p.m.

I get to bed at 10p.m after preparing the next day’s program.
