Saturday, March 21, 2026

APR FC moved back to the top of the Rwanda Premier League after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Amagaju FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium.

The decisive moment came early, when Djibril Ouattara scored in the 15th minute with a long-range strike. The Burkinabè has now joined the top ranked goalscorers in the league with 11 goals.

He leads the scoring charts alongside Marine’s Taiba Mbonyumwami and Al Hilal’s Emmanuel Flomo who also have 11 each.

Despite creating more chances through Ouattara and Dauda Youssif, APR couldn’t extend their lead.

Taleb Abderrahim’s side now sits on 49 points—one ahead of Al Merrikh, who had briefly taken top spot 24 hours earlier after beating AS Muhanga 3–0.

At the bottom of the table, Amagaju remain 17th with 21 points, level with AS Muhanga, who are at risk of relegation.
