Muslims in Rwanda on March 20 gathered at Kigali Pele Stadium to join others around the world in celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
Thousands of members of the Rwanda Muslim Community assembled at the stadium for morning prayers before heading home to celebrate with their families.
The morning prayers to mark the end of the month Ramadan, the month that is is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, communal prayer, reflection, study of the Quran, charity, and strengthening community ties, were led by the Mufti of Rwanda, Mussa Sindayigaya.
The prayers were also attended by Rwanda Defence Force Chief of Defence Staff, Mubarakh Muganga; Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mussa Fazil Harerimana; and former Mufti of Rwanda, Salim Hitimana, among others.
