After booking a place in the Peace Cup semi-finals, Cheikh Djibril Ouattara has urged APR FC to remain focused as they pursue a domestic double this season.

The Burkina Faso international is enjoying an impressive campaign with the Rwandan champions since returning from injury in January.

Ouattara, 26, was on target as APR FC thrashed Gasogi United 4–0 in the second leg of the Peace Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday at Kigali Pelé Stadium, sealing their place in the last four.

APR remain firmly in contention for multiple honours this season. The army side currently sits top of the league table with 46 points and has now advanced to the Peace Cup semi-finals.

"It is always good to win, and that is our objective,” Ouattara said. "Every game is tough, but we are focused on achieving our goal of winning both the league and the Peace Cup.

"We need to be consistent and keep winning games, which will help us achieve better results at the end of the season.”

Ouattara’s spell at APR FC has been nothing short of impressive. When fit, he has established himself as APR’s primary attacking threat this season.

With such consistent form, the forward—who has earned 14 international caps—could soon be in line for a recall to the Burkina Faso national football team.

He has been a decisive figure in both the league and the Peace Cup, playing a key role in APR’s rise to the top of the standings and their progression to the semi-finals, where they will face Etincelles FC, who eliminated Bugesera FC.

He has already registered 12 goals and four assists across all competitions, underlining his importance to the team’s success.
