KAMONYI - Staff and parents of College Appec Remera-Rukoma have made a new commitment to provide quality education in Kamonyi district in the coming years.

The College, that was established in 1984 and has so far produced over 16,000 students in various disciplines.

"The college was established under difficulties but we have succeeded in building more facilities and starting up a nursery and primary school sections. Our new goal is to become the best performers and provide quality education and a suitable education environment,” Mugiraneza stated.

Mugiraneza also noted that the school currently needs clean water and electricity in order to boost its service delivery for its over 530 current student population.

Pastor Fidele Sibomana, the student’s alumni representative, also remarked that the school was started as a way of fighting segregation based on ethnicity and regional differences that existed in the past regimes.

The alumni also urged the school administration to equip students with competitive skills on the job market and the need create an advocacy for the institute.

321 students from the Class of 2009 also received their graduation certificates, and the longest serving employee, Jean Pierre Habyarimana was recognized for their outstanding contribution towards education.
