Alice was going to leave the tidy little room, when she saw a small bottle that stood near a looking glass. There was no label this time with the words DRINKME, like the bottle which had made her shrink that morning, but she opened it and put it to her lips.

"I know something interesting is going to happen,” she said to herself, when I drink or eat any thing; I will see what this bottle does.

” I do hope that it will make me grow larger again, for really I am quite small, and I am tired of being such a tiny little thing!”

It did so indeed; and much sooner than she had expected. Before she had drunk half of the bottle, she found her head pressing against the ceiling, and she had to bend down to save her neck from being broken.

She hastily put down the bottle, saying to herself, "that is quite enough, "I think I won’t grow any more, as it is, I can’t get out of the door. I do wish I had not drunk so much!”

Alas! It was too late to wish that! She went on growing, and very soon had to kneel down on the floor. In another minute, there was any room for this, and she had to lie down with one elbow against the door, and the other arm curled around her head.

Still she went on growing, and finally, and finally to find out enough room, she had to put one leg out of the window, and one foot out of the chimney, and then she said to herself, "now I can do no more, whatever happens what will become of me?”

Luckily for Alice, the little magic bottle had now had its full effect, and she grew no longer. Still she was very uncomfortable, and as there seemed to be no chance of ever getting out of the room again, it was no wonder that she felt unhappy.
