Luxury Fragrance Retailer Dzetshal marked International Women’s Day by launching its "Gift Her Confidence” initiative at Sherrie Silver Foundation in Nyamirambo, Kigali, where young women received beauty products and encouragement to embrace confidence and self-expression.

The event, which was organised in partnership with the Foundation, highlighted the company’s broader mission to make beauty accessible while empowering communities. It was held on March 8.

It combined mentorship, community engagement and donations of beauty products to help girls feel valued, confident and inspired, according to its leadership.

It brought together foundation children, young women, and Dzetshal staff members at the foundation’s centre.

The event focused on empowering and supporting young women through meaningful engagement and acts of generosity.

During the celebration, Dzetshal donated various items to the foundation and gifted women with beauty products including perfumes, makeup bags, and other essentials, reflecting the brand’s commitment to uplifting women while celebrating confidence, care, and community on a globally significant day.

According to Nadine Ingabire, Country Manager of Dzetshal, the company believes beauty can play a powerful role beyond appearance by helping people build confidence and access new opportunities.

She explained that the brand’s philosophy centres on making beauty accessible while encouraging self-expression and individuality in the communities it serves.

"We believe beauty should be a gateway to confidence, inclusion, and opportunity,” she said.

"Rooted in our philosophy of empowering people by providing access to beauty, Dzetshal — Jardin de Beauté — celebrates self-expression and individuality in every community we touch.”

Ingabire further noted that the brand’s journey began in Bhutan – in Asia – in 2021, marking the first step in its mission to transform beauty accessibility in emerging markets.

Since then, the company has continued expanding its presence internationally, establishing outlets in Rwanda, Cameroon, Mozambique, and Zambia, with each new location contributing to its broader goal of promoting inclusion through beauty.

Young girls at the Sherrie Silver Foundation also shared their excitement and gratitude following the celebration, saying the initiative made them feel valued and more confident.

Naomie Masengesho said the event reminded her of the importance of confidence for girls and women. She expressed appreciation for the gifts she received, noting that they would help boost her self-esteem and happiness.

"I am really happy about Women’s Day because it gives confidence to girls and women. I am also grateful for the gifts I received, and I believe they will help me feel confident and happy,” she said.

"My message to women is to stay confident because, in society, some people may try to pull you down, but you have to believe in yourself, keep moving forward, and stand strong as a woman.”

Another participant from the foundation, Nickita Gisubizo, also shared her joy during the celebration, saying the day made her feel proud and encouraged as a young woman.

"I am very happy because it is Women’s Day. The gifts we received will help me feel confident and shine when I am around people. To all women, I want to say: please shine, don’t be shy, stay beautiful and confident,” she expressed.

Towards greater expansion

Looking ahead, Ingabire said that the company plans to deepen its footprint across the continent, with a vision of opening more than ten new outlets by 2026.

For Dzetshal, she emphasised, growth is not only about expanding the business but also about strengthening its impact by helping more people feel confident, celebrating diversity, and ensuring that individuals everywhere can experience the empowerment that beauty can bring.
