• As rain halts Atraco-Police game

Yesterday

Mukura     1-0 Etincelles
Atraco       1-1 Police (abandoned)
Rayon       3-0 Marines
Electrogaz 1-1 AS Kigali

ETINCELLES seem to be cracking under pressure.  The Western Province side failed to reclaim top spot after yesterday’s 0-1 defeat against beleaguered Mukura in Huye.

Hussein Sibomana scored the game’s only strike in the first half to move his side up to eighth spot with 13 points. On the other hand, Etincelles, who drew their previous game, dropped to third place and are now level on points (28) with Rayon Sport, who have recently managed to keep their financial woes away from the field.

Rayon, who last won the title in 2004, thrashed Marines 3-0 courtesy of Eric Habimana and Peter Kagabo who scored a brace at Mumena stadium.

The Blues’ superior goal difference is the reason they are seated in second place.

Meanwhile, Ugandan international Geoffrey Kakembo secured a point for AS Kigali after scoring against Electrogaz at Nyamirambo. Jack Ndikumana had given Electrogaz the lead.

Electrogaz remain in seventh position with 14 points while AS Kigali are in ninth spot.

Else where, centre referee Issa Kagabo was forced to call off the Atraco-Police match due to heavy downpour. Teams were in recess when Kagabo ruled that the pitch was not fit for play.

Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa says that the second half will be played although the date and venue are yet to be confirmed.

On Saturday, APR reclaimed top spot after a deserved 2-0 win over rivals SC Kiyovu. Albert Ngabo opened the scoring on the 8th minute while Didier Rorbsour sealed the win one minute from normal time (90) to take the army side to 30 points.

Musanze remained in the relegation zone following their 1-all draw against visiting side Amagaju.
