Now that every family is preparing for the big day, there is busy planning and consideration of what to buy for the children on Christmas. Children heading families are still wondering who will save them on that day.

Child headed families are comprised of children who were orphaned for various reasons. The biggest numbers of children in such families were orphaned by the 1994 Rwandan Genocide.

Children who were orphaned by the death of parents affected with HIV/AIDS leave a miserable life. They are victims of rejection and neglection, so in these festive seasons; they need to be shown care, love and affection.

Children heading families also lack the basic needs and among them are clothing, beddings, shelter, food and education.

This festive season is the best time to sow a good seed. Helping a helpless family will bring big smiles in such a period.

Orphans and child-headed families do not have to wait for support from far abroad; it is you and I who are responsible for bringing back the lost joy of these children.

Now, do not strain yourself thinking of what to bless these venerable children with. Whereas other children long for nice looking clothes, ice creams, going out to and having fun on Christmas, a child-headed family will only need food, clothing and beddings to feel great.

Let us think about them. They need you and me to live a life worthy of a child.
