Frenchman takes charge of U-17 national side

Lair Patrice has been appointed head coach of the national U-17 football team ahead of next year’s African Under-17 Championships to be held in Kigali. Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa also confirmed the Frenchman will be handling the Amavubi academy.

Lair Patrice has been appointed head coach of the national U-17 football team ahead of next year’s African Under-17 Championships to be held in Kigali.

Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa also confirmed the Frenchman will be handling the Amavubi academy.

"On top of handling the U-17 side, he has also been tasked to develop the youngsters in the Amavubi academy,” Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa noted.

Between October 2003 and February 2004, Patrice managed French side Angouleme CFC.

Next year’s continental event will be staged in three venues; Amahoro stadium, Nyamirambo’s Regional stadium and in Rubavu, Northern Province.
