MTN hands over World Cup tickets

TWO New Times scribes Bonnie Mugabe and Liliane Nakayimana were among ten lucky winners of the MTN 2010 FIFA World Cup promotion campaign.

The telecommunications provider handed out 10 World Cup tickets, 15 Flat Screen TVs, 15 Motorbikes and hundreds of other prizes to the lucky winners.

Those who will be heading to South Africa come June include Honore Nyiragire, Bonnie Mugabe, Hassan Kayijamahe, Innocent Mugisha, Jean Baptiste, Leticia Rudasingwa, Pacific Hanganyimana, Narcisse Habwimana, Liliane Nakayimana and Emmanuel Ndikumwenayo.

According to MTN-Rwanda CEO Khaled Mikkawi, the company will cater for costs ranging from visas, air-tickets, accommodation, meals, local transportation as well as access to the stadiums.

"They will travel in three groups and we shall provide them VIP status. It is going to be an experience of a lifetime for them and we want them to enjoy it.”

MTN has also promised to set up viewer parks to enable local football fans watch the tournament on giant television screens. The venues will be communicated in a few weeks time.
