Hollywood Star in Rwanda

Hollywood star, Owen Clive is in Rwanda for the first time, on a one week visit. The Managing Director of Vava Tours and Travel, Placide Mpore, who was among the few lucky Rwandans to rub shoulders with the star, confirmed that Owen is here for pleasure and not business.

Hollywood star, Owen Clive is in Rwanda for the first time, on a one week visit.

The Managing Director of Vava Tours and Travel, Placide Mpore, who was among the few lucky Rwandans to rub shoulders with the star, confirmed that Owen is here for pleasure and not business.

According to Mpore, the movie star expressed his excitement for visiting the country, and said that he knew the country, but only through books and news.

Owen, born in 1964 is a winner of the Golden Globe and  BAFTA Awards. He was nominated for an Academy Awards for Best Supporting actor for his appearance in the 2004 film "Closer”.

He starred in the highly acclaimed "Children of Men”, for which he received widespread praise, and has also starred in several movies, including "Doomsday Gun”, "Return of the Native”, "Shoot ‘Em Up” and "The international”.

In 2006, Owen teamed up with Denzel Washington for film "Inside Man”, which was directed by Spike Lee.
